M&E Module 2: Integration of monitoring and evaluation within the project cycle

Monitoring and evaluation (M&E) is an integral component within the project cycle; the M&E approaches and practices used are considered as the project M&E system. Projects, whether a small set of activities or a large multi-country set of initiatives, all follow a sequence beginning with the project design and strategy, which leads to specific activities being implemented, which are then monitored and evaluated with a view to improving the strategy and future action.
