organisational assessment
em4 examines 10 domains of activity within a social impact organisation (SIO) that have deep impact on its long-term financial sustainability.
The assessment is quick, in-depth and objective.
The beauty of this unique approach is that it comprehensively assesses all of the critical domains of an organisation’s functioning, strategy and process. It acknowledges the view of the SIO itself and evaluates it against the view of an expert. This then provides a steer on what is working or effective and needs no intervention, and it sheds light on those areas requiring an investment of time, money or other resources. It helps the leader to focus on what is working and what is not, and it guides the governing Board for oversight and scrutiny.
We will put you in touch with a team close to where you are.
em4 does not provide one-size-fits-all solutions.
The team you will be working with learns about your specific needs and has experience working in your cultural context. em4 invests in its teams with extensive training and support.

“em4 helped us to focus our fundraising strategy on the essential. They assessed our strengths, weaknesses, and requirements, and guided us to develop our fundraising strategy and communications. They supported us in telling our story from our first initiatives 10 years ago to our current actions in different countries. Understanding our challenges and addressing them with accessible solutions has strengthened our ability to secure sustainable funding.”

“I am pleased to say I have used the services of em4, and in particular their organisational development specialist Ajay Mehta. At all times I found them to be reliable, and timely in their work and meeting all – often tight deadlines we have set. They have understood the challenging environment we inhabit whereby we are a charitable Trust spending public (government) funds, requiring accuracy, discretion and precision.”

“The CloudRoom tool was user-friendly. All in all, a fantastic process that helped us see the organisation holistically. The resulting report showed areas that need to be addressed and where we are doing well. The follow-up meeting with the consultant was insightful and the final reports easy to understand and utilize. I am looking forward to doing the assessment again in a year’s time to track progress and report to stakeholders.”

“We appreciated working with em4 and benefited from analysis of our association. em4 helped us to realize that we needed to question not only our fundraising tracks but our fundamentals – vital issues such as our mission, ambitions, strategy, partnerships, and communications. em4 challenged us on issues that were distant from our daily preoccupations, and helped us to take a step back to reflect on how to build an efficient action plan.”

“It was great working with Judith and the em4 team – sincere thanks. The assessment process – effective, efficient and time-saving – helped us to understand our organisation and what was hindering performance. em4 tools are easy to use with minimal support. The Gap Analysis report and Dashboard are user-friendly, especially for busy Board members. We wish to work with you to implement the recommendations and action plan.”
